Recently I took some time off to explore Europe. I was based in Paris and I managed to use the train to cross the entire continent. On my journey I managed to see many amazing things. One thing in particular that I saw, was a wind farm full of wind turbines. The video below was taken just last week when traveling by TGV from Brussels to Paris. See the link below for the footage.
Wind Turbines in action, Generating Power (MPG format, 3.23mb)
They were astonishingly large and I may be biased but seeing these were one of the highlights of my trip. THis was the first time that I had seen a wind farm in action. I managed to take several other photos of the turbines but the TGV was going way too fast for me to take careful shots of these beasts. Anyway, if interested, see them below:

Why don’t you put the video on Youtube and embed it into your site?
This sounds like porn for green energy enthusiasts and environmentalists. Nice!

Hi Daniel,
I might do that then. That should keep bandwidth costs down on my end too. Hopefully I remember.

I’ve seen those wind turbines before – they’re absolutely massive. I’m with you on that – one of the best things I saw on my trip to Europe – haha what geeks we are…
I’d want to see the huge offshore ones as well. I reckon they’d be even more spectacular.

They don’t have those in my country yet. I wish they would. We’re so behind the times in terms of renewable and clean energy technology.
I doubt we’ll be getting wind turbines soon.

I’m sure you’ll get some soon, Harriet. Where do you come from, if you don’t mind me asking?
Renewable energy should become pretty prolific in the future. Fossil fuels will only last so long and the wind will continue to blow as long as we have the sun. Governments are really recognising the importance of wind turbines now.

Bit blurry, Rob. I think your other post about the St Leon Wind farm in Canada is just a tad more clear.
