If the trends don’t change in the coming years, there will come a time when you can no longer afford to purchase fuel. Hopefully, at this time too everyone has already looked into, used, and patronized biodiesel.
What can you get from biodiesel?
There are several direct and indirect benefits that you can reap from biodiesel. To illustrate the point, you can look into the list below:
1. It can work with any kind of unmodified engine. Biodiesel can be used as fuel for vehicles, and it doesn’t really matter if you have the conventional diesel engine. As a matter of fact, of all alternative fuels available, this is the lone one that effectively works.
2. Biodiesel can help greatly reduce health and environmental problems. Studies show that this alternative fuel can actually reduce the production of carbon monoxide, which damages the ozone layer by creating holes in it. Moreover, it also doesn’t produce any sulfur, which contributes to acid rain. Most of all, you can reduce your risk to develop cancer by 90 percent since biodiesel can limit tremendously your exposure to particulates.
3. It can extend the life of your engine and thus your vehicle. If you’re having some issues with your vehicle, perhaps you can try changing your fuel to biodiesel. According to research, this renewable fuel provides better and more lubrication than conventional fuels, like petroleum diesel, allowing your engine to operate longer.
4. Biodiesel isn’t harmful to your body. Unlike when you take in petroleum diesel accidentally, which will definitely land you in a hospital, biodiesel is definitely health-friendly. As a matter of fact, your table salt is 10 times more toxic than this one. What’s more, it’s basically biodegradable, which means when left unused, it will simply disintegrate and form part of the environment.
5. Biodiesel is a very safe energy to use. You know that you can’t possibly get near with diesel for the simple reason that a spark can trigger a huge explosion. The scenario is completely in contrast with this alternative source of energy. It has an extremely high flash point, around 300 degrees Fahrenheit, which means it’s too far from becoming a highly combustible fuel.
6. Biodiesel is a renewable energy. It can be sourced from oil producing algae or food crops like pal oil and vegetable oils. This will make it a fantastic replacement for when oil reserves are depleted.
The government, along with various environmental organizations, is doing as much as it can in order to promote the use of biodiesel. Hopefully this will spur a new carbon neutral way of producing energy that makes use of our existing combustion engine society.

Excellent post, I think the more we get the word out about biodiesel, the better it will be for everyone. I personally prefer the Algae method because it is truely renewable and doesn’t impact poorer countries.

Yeah, biodiesel is a great method. On from the comment above, Algae oil can be produced from powerstations to soak up any CO2 gasses from their exhaust. Not only does this reduce carbon emissions by 75 percent, it also allows you to get biodiesel as a bi-product - amazing isn’t it?
